Slam Jam spotlights black fiction

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Literary Festival will not be the only book-related extravaganza going on this week in Little Rock.
Wednesday marks the beginning of Romance Slam Jam, which pulls together readers, zyprexa free sample, writers, booksellers and publishers “to celebrate African-American romance and women’s fiction as well as promoting literacy.” Boasting nearly 50 established authors, Where to order zyprexa, the event continues through Sunday.

Hosts are the Sistahs of Color Reading Group, a Little Rock area book club, and Pine Bluff based romance author Laura Parker Castoro.
The conference features workshops covering topics such as character development, setting, research, book promotion and tax information, where to buy zyprexa, along with book discussions.

The authors gathered for a mass book signing and fan meet-and-greet.
Co-host Castoro, Zyprexa pharmacy, whose latest novel is A New Lu (Castoro Books, digital list price $2.99), describes the original Slam Jam as an event that satisfied a “mutual need for authors and fans to feed each other.”

The conference will include a handful of male authors, including Earl Sewell, Keith Thomas Walker and Wayne Jordan.

The Slam Jam will commingle a bit with the Arkansas Literary Festival. Castoro will moderate a panel discussion, “Isn’t It Romantic,” at 4 p.m. Friday at the Cox Creative Center. Bolton is one of the panelists.
