LAURA PARKER CASTORO is a best-selling author with thirty-eight (39) books published in the U.S.. Her work has also been published in fourteen (15) foreign languages, including among others German, French, Italian, Russian, Icelandic, Hungarian, Chinese and Japanese. Her most recent works include LOVE ON THE LINE (February 2009, Harper Collins/Avon a+ Trade), COUGAR TALES Anthology( September 2009) Parker Publishing, and a re-issue of ROSE OF THE MISTS (May 2008, Questmark). Laura began her career writing historical and contemporary romance as LAURA PARKER. Her first title was SILKS AND SABERS (May 1980, Dell). She went on to write novels in others genres: western, saga, romantic suspense, YA non-fiction, African American, and mainstream. Her publishers have included Warner, Pocketbooks, Avon, Simon and Schuster (Jan Messner), Dell (three different imprints), Harlequin Intrigue, Silhouette Intimate Moments and Silhouette Special Edition, Kensington, Berkley, Red Dress Ink, MIRA and soon Harper Collins/Avon Trade.

Her latest release is LOVE ON THE LINE (February 2009, Harper Collins/Avon Trade) as LAURA CASTORO. It is a sequel to her best-selling 2002 release, CROSSING THE LINE (Berkley, August 2002) a work of mainstream African American fiction. A hardcover version of LOVE ON THE LINE is available through Black Expressions Book Club (May 2008.)

Other recent novels by LAURA CASTORO include humorous looks at the contemporary life, loves, and trials of women of “a certain age”. These include A NEW LU (March 2005 and ICING ON THE CAKE (2007). ICING ON THE CAKE is available.

Laura also publishes work for magazines and newspapers. Her first short story “Christmas and Coconut Cake” appeared in the December 2002 issue of “Good Housekeeping Magazine.”

Laura is a much sought–after lecturer on topics related to the craft of writing and the demands of getting published. She also appears as a guest or featured speaker at numerous other types of programs and meetings throughout the U.S. She teaches creative writing classes, as well as one- and two-day commercial fiction and marketing workshops.
