On PAR Woman, anyone?

On PAR stands for On top of, Primed and Ready. It’s a site that will be about a grown up woman’s Point of View. First we launched an On PAR Facebook Page. It’s aimed as an upbeat site :For the over 45 grown up woman, and those who simply feel grown up. And, the men who admire them!”

The Big Picture

Ever feel like the weight of the universe is on your shoulders? Deadlines to meet, traveling and wondering why you can’t sleep, multi-tasking like an octopus, and still need a few more arms, brains, bodies to do it all? Sometimes it helps to take a look at the big picture.

Good News: COUGAR TALES available. Bad News: My name/storyline is wrong in the promo!?!?!

“Is forty really the new thirty, or is it just an excuse for an older woman to date a younger man? Perhaps it is another chance at love? In Cougar Tales, three short stories give us a little insight into what it is like to want love and find it in a place and with someone younger than expected…” Sharel Love.

I met my deadline!

  3 1/2 weeks.  110 pages.  27,000 words
I’m taking the day off.
I met my deadline for STORMY WEATHER yesterday.  It’s with the publisher.  Now I have time to take my Christmas tree down!  Clean the kitchen, put my notes away, clear my desk, finish a book I’m reading, Etc, Etc, Etc.!  Ole!

STORMY WEATHER

Everyone wonders what I’m writing about since it came up so quickly.  It’s a novella for an anthology called “Cougar Tales.“  Hate the title because it refers to relationships between older women and younger men.  Why that makes the woman predatory I don’t know.  Older men, younger women…can we say cliche?
Okay, to move on.  My [...]

What the–?!?!?!?

Short break from novella while I drink coffee and ponder my life as I live it.
I’ve been trying to write in my upstairs office this morning while four men are making free with my house.
Two plumbers are drilling and hammering through foot-thick brick-and-plaster walls in this 1923 house, and cutting pipe outside my window. [...]

3 weeks? 100 pages! Got to be kidding me!

Life is never as interesting as when opportunity walks in the door, plants both feet, and says, “Ante up!”
I’ve been absent my muse, henceforth referred to as da Muse, in 2008.  She packed and left town in the spring when I wasn’t looking.  She left me lots of story ideas but no spark to go [...]

A name’s a name, but is it?

Quicky today.
Working on a novella due in 10 days.  It’s a 100 page, 3-week wonder called Stormy Weather.  That’s the working title.  Anyway, I’m trying to name characters and it’s sometimes as difficult as naming your own child.  If it doesn’t come immediately, then I know it’s going to be a process.  Even tho [...]
